Beach Views-Cocoa Beach, Florida

Is there anything more beautiful than a thunderstorm at the beach?

O.K., there are alot of things even more beautiful but...

you have to admit, this sky is awesome!!

Then the storm clears and it's a great, cool beach day.

...And...clear, smooth sailing, for the Disney Cruise headed for the Bahamas.

With the Vaughn's at Cocoa Beach

Jim and Brandy prepared a delicious lunch for us.

A fisherman catches a sand shark.

We get to take a closer look. You should see his teeth!

The release.

Jim and Brandy Vaughn with their daughter, Hannah.

My dear friend, Brandy, invited me to spend the afternoon at Cocoa Beach with she and her family. They were here in Florida, vacationing from Tennessee. We had such a nice time visiting, enjoying the children, and EATING. Jim grilled some Bubba burgers for us and Brandy had everything to go with it. The beach was clear and cool and the water calm after a short thunderstorm cleared. (Pictures of that to follow.)

It's always good to catch-up with old friends, isn't it. The location and scenery are just an added blessing...like icing on the cake.

Eastern Black Swallowtail

My friend Dorthy knows how much I love butterflies, so when she had an abundance of Swallowtail chrysalises, she shared some with me.
These are the cocoons of the Eastern Black Swallowtail. In about a week to ten days a beautiful butterfly will emerge from each cocoon.
There is a picture of one green looking cocoon. In reality this is a wonderful shot of a caterpillar changing from one stage of life to another. Notice how the tip is brown and the body is still green. Amazing isn't it?
If all goes well, next week I'll be posting pictures of brand new butterflies.

My first posting

Michelle and Emma

Meghan and I on her wedding day.

I'm very proud of myself today...I'm utilizing my computer in a new way and I did it without the help of my children. Amazing!
I have been inspired by three lovely women: My daughter Meghan, a woman I've never met, Barbara and my niece Michelle.

Meghan lives in Columbus, MS with her husband, James (a USAF pilot) and my perfect new granddaughter, Adalie. While Meg was pregnant she kept us all up-to-date with her pregnancy on her blog. We ALL loved and appreciated the updates since we couldn't be with her. Now we crave new postings to get a current glimpse of Adalie!

Last week I was surfing the net and came across Barbara's blog. Barbara is a 69 year old English woman with her own blog, Ramblings from an English Garden. Her blog is so beautiful and interesting...the pictures, her story, her travels...absolutely LOVE it! Anyone that knows me knows I'm obsessed with everything British. Upon communication with her, she asked "Do you have a blog?".
Just last night I was having dinner with Lily (my youngest daughter), my sister Melanie and niece Michelle. Michelle told me all about her new blog, thebeanbunch.blogspot.com and how she went about putting it together.

SOOO...here I am...with MY very own blog! A big thank you to all three of you amazing women, my inspiration. I will try to live up to your example of creativity, interest and beauty.
STAYED TUNED...THERE'S MORE TO COME!
